Elon Musk’s recent tweets seem to confirm speculations that he had twins in 2021 with Shivon Zilis – a fellow Neuralink executive.
With his on-and-off partner, Grimes, the business magnate recently welcomed a second child.
According to reports on Wednesday, Musk had twins with Zilis in November 2021. He replied to these rumors on Thursday, tweeting that he was “doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis.”
He continued that “a collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” adding to his previous comments and open concerns about a population crisis.
The alleged twins would be his second couple as he has already fathered twins and triplets with his ex-wife and Canadian writer Justine Wilson. He also had two children, X Æ A-Xii and Exa Dark Sideræl, with Grimes over the past two years.

Musk previously said that in addition to the development of artificial intelligence, a declining birth rate could create problems like “not enough people” in the world.
“Far too many people are under the illusion that Earth is overpopulated, even though birth rate trends are so obviously headed to population collapse,” Musk said in response to his tweet.
On Wednesday, Insider’s report referred to court documents showing Zilis and Musk appealing to change the child’s name, filed to a district court in Texas in April 2022. The outlined name change request reason is: “we would like the children to have their father’s last name and their mother’s last name as part of their middle name.”
Zilis reportedly held numerous positions at Musk-led companies such as Tesla before becoming a senior executive and director of Neuralink, which Musk co-founded in 2015.
The reports of Musk’s new twins came just weeks following the revelation of his daughter Vivian taking steps to disconnect with him, announcing her desire to no longer “be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form” in an appeal to alter her legal name and gender.
