Spider-Man: No Way Home is supposed to wrap up the Spider-Man trilogy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But it seems we won’t be saying goodbye to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker just yet.
In an interview with Fandango, Producer Amy Pascal has confirmed that Holland will return for another set of movies, becoming the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man once more.
“This is not the last movie that we are going to make with Marvel – [this is not] the last Spider-Man movie,” Pascal revealed. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies.”
Spider-Man is a beloved comic book character that has seen many different iterations. There was Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy that premiered in 2002, Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man that premiered in 2012, and lately, there’s Tom Holland’s lovable Peter Parker in Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe. The latest Tom Holland film is the most ambitious of the trilogy, with crossovers and cameos from different Spider-Man films.
When asked about the film, producer Amy Pascal said, “The movie is… so ambitious and the movie has everything that people have come to expect from a Spider-Man movie. All the spectacle, all the heart, but at the same time, as expansive as it is, it’s always a very intimate story that is about Peter Parker… and his heart.”
This sounds great, and she also talked about how the film would connect the Spider-Man universe across the different iterations of Peter Parker. “Well, here’s what I would say. I would say that it’s the culmination of the Homecoming trilogy, of the story of Tom Holland becoming the Spider-Man that we’ve all been waiting for him to be. It certainly tells that story and it does… and as you know from seeing the trailers, it does bring some of the characters from the early movies together. And yes, wrapping a bow around it sounds nice,” she explained.
