Many people today look for membership and subscription-based services for their needs. Services like Netflix, Spotify, Amazon Prime, Xero, and many others have switched to this kind of model. In the name of innovation and better customer service, health care company Heritage Health Wellness Clinic is adapting the same model to medical services.
The core belief that drives the practice is the value of simplicity in health care. Heritage Health adopts a direct primary care model that introduces a monthly payment scheme for a set of primary care services. This service brings an affordable and reliable option for people in need of medical coverage.
The direct primary care model of health care requires a minimal flat fee paid monthly. The subscription serves as an all-access pass to individuals and companies needing consultation and simple medical procedures. With a subscription to Heritage Health Wellness Clinic, patients get access to same-day consultation services for cases such as acne, allergies, athlete’s foot, coughs, colds, asthma, sore throat, ear aches, eczema, dental pain, pink eye, poison ivy, shingles, and other minor cases. The practice also offers another plan covering procedures such as simple dermatological procedures, including I/D of an abscess, simple suturing, skin tag, and mole removal with biopsy.
Heritage Health Wellness Clinic’s greatest aim is to offer better health care at a lower cost. Medical bills can often be a significant burden on many families and companies. More than the cost involved, what makes health care expenses a harsh reality is how unpredictable they can be. Anyone can wake up one day with no knowledge of what possible medical expenses they might incur. Heritage Health recognizes this pain point and minimizes or even eliminates the volatile nature of medical costs by putting a fixed recurring fee that people can anticipate and budget for.
Heritage Health Wellness Clinic started with the ingenuity of nursing practitioner Danielle Dodds. By building Heritage Health, the founder’s goal is to inspire patients and the greater community to pursue wellness. “By connecting on a deeper level, I strive to help my patients transform both their physical and mental health,” shares Danielle.
Danielle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and marketing from the University of Florida. She also earned her master’s degree in nursing from the same institution and working towards a certificate in cognitive behavior therapy. Her inspiration for Heritage Health came when Danielle was working in rural areas as a medical professional. Upon seeing how many people had no access to health care or insurance, she decided to build a company that would meet the patient where they were. Her practice’s heart is to give patients more control of their physical and mental health by building a service that would adjust to their needs and budget.
On top of implementing a subscription-based model, Heritage Health Wellness Clinic takes the innovation up a notch by introducing telemedicine services, which gives patients access to doctors anytime, anywhere, via phone or text.
Looking toward the future, Danielle Dodds and the team at Heritage Health Wellness Clinic aims to open five large employee wellness clinics. Danielle also looks to become a motivational speaker and share her insights on grit and overcoming adversities: two philosophies that she continues to practice in her own life on top of her medical career.
