Captain America might be missing from the spotlight, but Chris Evans has still found a way to make an impact in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In his career, Evans has portrayed a variety of superheroes. First, he was Johnny Storm in the movie Fantastic Four and later took on Steve Rogers now as well to complete this iconic superhero set.
Evans said he would be more likely to play the role of Storm again than Cap.
“God, wouldn’t that be great?” Evans responded when asked about coming back as the Human Torch.
“But no, no one’s ever come to me about that. I mean, I don’t exactly look the same anymore. That was 15. Almost 20 years ago. Oh my God, I’m old. I really love that character, but I think… aren’t they doing something now with Fantastic Four?”
Chris may have a point. For some time now, Marvel Studios has had a Fantastic Four movie on the books. However, it had a conflict when filmmaker Jon Watts left the project. And then Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came, where John Krasinski portrays Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, Fantastic Four’s leader, from a parallel universe.
John Krasinski’s future role in the MCU is not yet confirmed – this considering the multiverse and all. The existence of a ‘multiplicity’ does make Evans’s return as Johnny Storm more possible, despite his age not aligning with that character- Torch being an arrogant youth.
“Look, I would love it,” Evans further stated.
“I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap. Cap is so precious to me, and I almost don’t want to disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows?”
