The Waltons’ Homecoming: Kathy Ireland Presents Thanksgiving Gift to Every American Home

It’s the holiday season, and as every American family gets into the celebratory mood and anticipates the end of the year, The Waltons’ Homecoming has hit the screens, courtesy of Kathy Ireland.

The Waltons’ Homecoming is an American classic that speaks to the purest human values like faith, love, family and inclusivity. Coming at a time when the world is looking hopelessly bleak, this classic is set to uplift the spirits of many, help repurpose many minds, and most of all, gear people into the holiday spirit of giving and sharing. The Waltons’ Homecoming was executive produced by Emmy Award winner Sam Haskell, Chair and President of Magnolia Hill Productions at Warner Bros.

Coming at the end of a challenging year, The Waltons’ Homecoming has been described as a gift to every American, and the significance of Sam Haskell in bringing the story to life cannot be underscored. “Sam’s accomplishments in television are legendary and iconic, and there is no one more talented or appropriate to bring this message into our homes on Thanksgiving weekend than Sam,” said Kathy.

Kathy Ireland is an American author, entrepreneur, and former fashion model. Kathy was a supermodel in the 1980s and 1990s, best known for appearing in 13 consecutive Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues. In 1993, she founded a brand marketing company, kathy ireland Worldwide (kiWW), which has made her one of the wealthiest former models in the world. As a result of her career as a businesswoman, she made a $420 million personal fortune by 2015. In 2012, $2 billion worth of products bearing her company’s brand were sold.

Kathy currently serves as International Chair for The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NCPF) as part of her commitment to giving back to society and helping children battling cancer. “Kathy has an extraordinarily beautiful heart,” said David Frazer, NPCF CEO, who is joining Ireland on this incredible journey.

The Waltons’ Homecoming stars Bellamy Young, Ben Lawson, Logan Shroyer, and the original John Boy, Richard Thomas. The theme song is written and recorded by seven-time Grammy Award winners Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., with a stirring rendition of “Silent Night,” which WaterTower Music released on Monday, November 29. The song has already been described by TV Guide as beautiful and soulful.

The music duo and Ireland are no stranger to working together, having made magic on many occasions before now. McCoo and Davis partnered with Ireland on their most recent album release, Blackbird: Lennon-McCartney Icons, produced by Nic Mendoza. The album returned the duo to the Billboard charts after over 35 years of absence.

2021 has been an extraordinary year for kathy ireland® Worldwide, because in addition to capping the year with the release of The Waltons’ Homecoming, Ms. Ireland received the Business International Religious Freedom Champion Award from the IRF, Icon Award from International Home Furnishings Association, and is the youngest woman ever elected to the Hall of Fame by Licensing International as the highest-ranked solely-owned licensing company of any woman in America.
