For two weeks this July, a storefront on Franklin Street will become an active creative space in downtown Manhattan. The result is part retail concept, part cultural experiment, a space that treats fashion as one thread in a larger downtown conversation.

From July 5 through July 19, Aelfric Eden will open a pop-up retail activation at 68 Franklin Street, bringing together exclusive fashion releases, local artist collaborations, interactive experiences, and World Cup-inspired programming.

Located at the intersection of Tribeca and SoHo, the temporary pop-up arrives during one of the busiest periods of the summer, coinciding with the FIFA World Cup 2026 finals week taking place just across the Hudson River at MetLife Stadium.

While the activation introduces New Yorkers to a global streetwear brand, organizers say the project was designed with local culture in mind.

Why Franklin Street?

Franklin Street sits between two neighborhoods that have long shaped New York’s creative identity. Tribeca’s gallery scene, independent businesses, and artistic community intersect with SoHo’s reputation as one of the city’s premier retail destinations. That in-between location is central to the concept: instead of opting for a single neighborhood’s identity, the pop-up seeks to borrow freely from both.

For Aelfric Eden, the location is an opportunity to create something that feels connected to both worlds.

The space combines shopping, art, and community rather than a traditional retail store.

Visitors are encouraged to spend time in the space, interact with installations, and participate in daily programming.

Admission is free, and no reservations are required.

Collaborating With New York Artists

One of the activation’s strongest local connections comes through its partnerships with New York-based artists.

Brooklyn artist and gallery founder Xianglong Li has created a dedicated Gallery Wall featuring original large-scale paintings installed throughout the space. The exhibition incorporates themes drawn from pop culture, animation, and contemporary visual storytelling.

In addition, New York airbrush artist Rob Graham will host live customization sessions on July 11, 12, and 18.

During these events, customers can have original artwork painted directly onto Aelfric Eden T-shirts while they watch.

Each piece will be signed by the artist and completed on-site.

The collaborations help transform the pop-up into a venue that highlights local creative talent alongside fashion. Together, the two artists give the space a rotating sense of energy, so repeat visitors are likely to encounter something new each time they stop by.

More Than a Retail Experience

Visitors will also find a DIY customization station available throughout the event.

Using professional heat-press equipment, customers can personalize apparel and accessories with patches, graphics, and lettering.

The goal is to encourage participation rather than passive shopping.

Another attraction is the Baggy Ball Challenge, a soccer-inspired activation where participants test their keepy-uppy skills while wearing oversized Aelfric Eden pants.

The challenge includes a running leaderboard and prizes throughout the duration of the event.

A World Cup Connection

The pop-up’s schedule aligns with the FIFA World Cup semifinals and final, creating additional opportunities for community engagement.

Live match screenings, extended operating hours, score prediction giveaways, and special in-store promotions are planned during key tournament dates.

The combination of soccer culture, fashion, and local creative programming reflects the energy expected throughout New York during the tournament’s final week.
