Compulsive Magazine’s Young Hollywood Issue Features Actresses Dani and Dannah Lane

Actresses Dani and Dannah Lane, sisters in real life, are the latest attraction to Compulsive magazine’s young Hollywood issue released last Oct. 10, 2022. The quarterly magazine wants to capture and share the inspiring story of the Lane sisters, who were raised as God-fearing children by their mom, Dannella. By telling their success story as child stars, Compulsive hopes to inspire young people in the present generation to never give up on their dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem at first glance.

The sisters went viral a few years ago for their hilarious video – two little girls discussing Dannah’s break up with her toddler boyfriend. They were only five years old when that video was released, and much has changed in their lives since then. Thanks to that viral video, the two were invited to Ellen and eventually secured an acting project on Kenan, which is Kenan Thompson’s show on NBC. The two play Kenan’s daughters, Aubrey and Bridget Williams.

Dannah cannot help but rave about how fun it is to be on the show. “The best part for me on [the show] is that everybody there is like my family,” she explained. “We have a very good relationship. Tina is one of my best friends.”

Dani could not be any prouder to be working alongside her sister, who keeps her comfortable on set. “When you have to do the chemistry readings, I get to work with my sister, so it’s not necessarily awkward,” she shared. “A lot of people might not know this, but I’m kind of socially awkward, so it’s easier when I have to work with my sister.”

In its past issues, Compulsive has featured iconic personalities on its covers, including Timeekah Murphy, Obba Babatundé, Miriam A. Hyman, MC Sha-Rock, Dr. Michael Friedman, Raimondo Rossi, Asia’h Epperson, Giulia Lupetti, and Compulsive Editor Breona Moore. The magazine has an impressive global reach, its copies having reached Turkey, Germany, and Bahrain, apart from the United States distribution.

The idea behind the magazine came to its founder, Dr. Cookie Humphrey while living in the Middle East. She wanted it to be an inspirational publication that did not thrive on gossip. She also ensured that it would not be celebrity-driven. Compulsive would simply be a magazine about real and inspiring stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things across the globe. Dr. Humphrey established early on that the magazine’s lifestyle section will give readers a dose of hope.

Her founder’s statement states, “Our mission is to bring readers information that is relevant, useful, entertaining and inspirational. To speak to a diverse audience connecting them to unique touching stories on the discovery of true self and finding his/her unique place in the fashion world.”

An avid reader and writer herself, Dr. Humphrey wanted to provide a platform to a wider range of gifted creators who would normally find it difficult to be published due to the tough competition in the industry.

Compulsive is uniquely designed to cater to the passions and inclinations of individuals who are into fashion, new trends, and the success stories of various brands. The Compulsive readers are highly confident, self-motivated, ambitious, and attracted to a lavish lifestyle.

Closely followed by women more than men, Compulsive is one of the fastest-rising magazines in the publishing world today. Inspirational stories are the topmost kinds of content readers look for, including topics relating to culture, fashion/beauty, personal growth, entertainment, food, health and wellness, and family.

With Dr. Humphrey holding the reins, Compulsive can be expected to outdo itself anytime in the near future.
