Daya Burton moved to Miami, Florida, in 2001 with her parents to pursue her passion for fashion and beauty. She received her modeling education from John Casa Blanca. With pageantry being a dream since her younger age, she continued to pursue her cosmetology career. It wasn’t until the summer of 2022 that she received an email from the United States of America pageant’s director and was given the opportunity to represent her town as USOA Ms. North Jersey 2022. Although this was Daya’s first pageant, she put all her focus and worked really hard to get ready. Going to a state pageant for the first time and winning was a dream for her. Daya has always been known as being determined, a hard worker, and realistic. She knew that winning a crown on your first try was not really common. On September 25th of 2022, Daya Burton competed for the USOA Ms New Jersey 2023 and won her very first pageant. Now she is getting ready to go to Las Vegas for the national competition from March 30th to April 2nd, to bring the crown home.
However, Daya’s journey to this point has not been easy. She has been facing big challenges such as breaking her left ring finger right before her scheduled photoshoot and twisting her ankle, and having to take physical therapy to be able to get back on her heels.
Despite the difficulties, Daya Burton has been motivated by her favorite phrase: “let me see your beauty.” To her, true beauty comes from the inside and the outside is only a reflection of your inner beauty. She believes that giving everything in your power to achieve your goals is what indeed shows your natural beauty. Daya is determined to attend the National competition and win the title, showing the world that she is a powerful woman who can overcome adversity and become stronger.
Winning the pageant is not a way to have another achievement in her life she claimed. Having the honor of holding the United States of America Ms 2022 title will give her a bigger voice in the community she serves. Her platform, Let Me See Your Beauty, focuses on the education and professional development of women and children in low-income communities, which so far has helped her provide over 100 makeup artist certifications to women to facilitate a career in the beauty industry.
She believes that people need people; therefore, in order for her to expand her cause nationally and internationally, she will need help from all, especially those with bigger powers like politicians and large corporations. Today, she is working with at least 4 large educational organizations, over three politicians and over 8 large corporations, raising millions of dollars every year to support the needs of indigents.
Daya is also a community leader who promotes women’s progress in the workplace and school while instructing classes. She is active in various foundations and champions causes like education and the growth of inborn talents. Daya strongly emphasizes the value of identifying and developing one’s abilities and encourages people to pursue their passions.
In a world where social media frequently provides an inaccurate picture of people’s lives, Daya maintains her humility and fights for transparency despite her success. She works tirelessly and devotedly to tell her truth, hoping to inspire others to follow their aspirations. Daya’s unwavering willpower and tenacity prove that anything is achievable with a lot of effort and a burning passion.
