Mister Pablo is the leader of a 5-piece Latin fusion band that shares his name, performing songs in both English and Spanish. As the band’s sole composer and arranger, he blends rock and reggae with Latin styles like salsa, samba, and tango. They perform live in New York City, across the Eastern U.S., and in Argentina, entertaining audiences in clubs, theaters, and festivals. Mister Pablo has a unique ability to captivate audiences of all ages and backgrounds, engaging both English and Spanish speakers.
Born in Argentina, Pablo Raul—known professionally as Mister Pablo—developed a love for music early in life. His father, recognizing his passion, gifted him two albums at the age of six: Queen’s greatest hits and a record by The Police. This early exposure sparked a lifelong love of music. Growing up, Pablo was equally influenced by tango and Latin music, as well as the English rock that was widely popular in Argentina. At 12, his family moved to Germany, where he discovered his love for the stage, becoming involved in acting, comedy, and the school choir. Upon finishing high school, Pablo moved to New York City to pursue studies in acting and singing at New York University.
After college, he landed a few TV commercials but quickly grew disillusioned with the acting industry. The limited opportunities for a Latin actor with a unique surname (Beracochea) and the cumbersome decision-making process in the entertainment world pushed him to pursue music. He formed his first band, performing in New York City’s vibrant club scene. Initially, the band was a rock project, with all songs written in English. However, Pablo soon felt his Latin roots calling, leading him to introduce a horn section and begin writing songs in Spanish. The fusion of Latin music with rock and reggae became the defining sound of the project.
During this time, he was hired by the Prudential Center in New Jersey to perform at a tailgating event before a concert by the internationally acclaimed Latin band, Maná. This opportunity helped him secure a residency at The Bitter End, a legendary New York City club where artists like Paul Simon and Lady Gaga got their start. For three years, Pablo and his band played monthly shows there, solidifying their unique sound and building a loyal fanbase. Pablo often refers to this period as his “personal Hamburg,” a nod to the city where The Beatles honed their skills.
Toward the end of this residency, two significant events occurred. First, Pablo finished recording his debut single, “New York Tango.” Then, the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill. During this time, Pablo, who had been planning to film a live concert, pivoted to create a music video for “New York Tango.” The video was shot in a deserted New York City, with Pablo directing and editing the film himself. The video went on to win an award for Premier Music Video and was officially selected by 14 film festivals around the world, from Madrid to Rio to Los Angeles.
Last year, Mister Pablo was featured on New York 1 News by renowned correspondent Roger Clark. This exposure led to an invitation from the Consulate of Argentina in New York to perform in celebration of the one-year anniversary of Argentina’s World Cup win in Qatar.
Mister Pablo has since released two more singles. His latest single, “Enough,” is a danceable blend of rock and Brazilian music, which was featured on iHeartRadio in California and included in playlists in the UK, Brazil, Italy, and the U.S. His second music video, “Mal Amado (Bad Love),” a flamenco-infused pop song, features fellow Argentine guitarist Hernan Romero, who has produced for legendary guitarist Al Di Meola. The video won an award for Premier Music Video and earned four official selections at international film festivals.
Currently, Mister Pablo is preparing to release a new single next month, along with his third music video. He is also finalizing an album featuring renowned drummer Jotan Afanador, from Romeo Santos’ band, and guitarist Ben Butler, who has played with Sting. The album is set to release in the coming months. Looking ahead, Pablo has already begun recording songs for the 2026 World Cup. He will continue performing across the U.S. this fall and plans to return to Argentina for performances early next year.
