Eliza Rose is an individual who has been a part of the YouTube community, creating content as a beauty vlogger and musician.
Eliza Rose, whose real name is Eliza Shelton, was born and raised in Indiana. She later moved to Louisiana in her late teen years to attend Louisiana State University. However, Eliza would not stay at the university for long as she cared for her family and her own mental health. She dropped out to return home.
By then, YouTube had become a popular platform for aspiring musicians and personalities. Eliza herself created her social media accounts when she was thirteen. She joined YouTube in 2012 and mainly used her YouTube channel as a vlog, sharing her makeup routine.
Five years after joining the YouTube community, she decided to use her platform to speak about an issue that wasn’t talked about too often– domestic violence. In a five-minute video, Eliza came out as a victim of her father’s abuse. Having left his home, she found the courage to reveal his temper and how he lashed out at their family. The video has gone on to amass a million views, sparking conversations globally about domestic violence and what it means to be a survivor of childhood abuse.
Since then, Eliza gained a massive following and has been using her platform to speak out on several issues and topics to reach out to her younger viewers and fellow millennials. She has been acting as a role model to bring attention to the importance of mental health and racial equity. When the pandemic reached the shores of America, it coincided with the Black Lives Matter protests. Eliza took time off from uploading videos to join the community protest for racial equity.
As a vlogger, Eliza is consistent with her uploads and passionate about making positive content. She shares tips on skincare and makeup tutorials, making sure that her videos are inclusive. Eliza is very active in the community, listening to and answering her follower’s questions.
Outside of makeup, Eliza Rose also delves into music. While she still lived in her abusive father’s home, the future vlogger found comfort in playing with her mother’s makeup and singing along to the radio. The two hobbies were her escape from her situation at the time. She never imagined her career would see her turning those two passions as the subject of her success.
Recently, the vlogger & musician released her first single on all music platforms. “Runnin” is a calm, indie-pop bop that talks about running on their mind. Her song can be found on several music streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
Already successful in her vlogging career, Eliza Rose hopes to gain momentum in her venture as a musician. She targets the release of her first EP along with visual in the next few years along with performing at live concerts.
