Dawn Michelle Chamberlain, MPH, MBA, has an unusual way of marking the passage of time. It’s not a countdown to a vacation, nor is it the years until retirement. Rather, it’s the duration she spent in federal prison – two years, two months, two weeks, and two days – the consequence of leading a multi-million dollar criminal enterprise.

In 2004, Chamberlain was on top of the world. She was the CEO of a growing tax preparation agency, cherished by her family, and admired for her beauty. Her natural talent for crunching numbers allowed her to bring financial prosperity to her community, helping individuals and families leverage as many tax credits as possible for larger refunds. However, her ambition led her down a path of unethical and illegal strategies.

Her misguided actions eventually drew attention. In 2008, she found herself at the center of a five-year tax fraud investigation against the United States. Indicted in 2013 and incarcerated the following year, she experienced a dramatic fall from grace. She went from being a successful business owner to a federal prisoner, losing her business, family, and the life she once knew.

But Chamberlain’s story did not end there. Released from prison in 2016, she channeled her innate zest for life and passion for helping others into a fresh start. The fierce, bold, confident leader who had once stumbled was back, this time with a deeper understanding of herself and the world around her. Today, she’s a respected international keynote speaker, master trainer, coach, and author. She empowers entrepreneurs worldwide, teaching them to overcome challenges, expand their reach, and eliminate excuses. She encourages them to embrace their inner fierceness and Choose L.I.F.E. (Live In Fierceness Everyday).

Her commitment to helping others succeed in business led her to become the CEO of Dawn Michelle Enterprises Inc. and the Chief Visionary Officer of Felon Friendly Foundation. She provides her clients with tools and strategies to grow their businesses and fulfill their potential. In addition, she founded No Hustle University, an innovative coaching program offering comprehensive entrepreneurship education and training.

An advocate for second chances, Chamberlain strongly supports The Second Chance Act, promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for those affected by the justice system. She serves as the Chairperson of Hooper Councill Positive Potential Project, a non-profit organization aimed at the successful integration of high-risk individuals into the community, thereby improving public safety.

She is set to host her own TV series on the Onstage Plus Network and release her book, “Stop Playing! Get Your Shiii Together: From Fed Life to Legit Business Life”. The book shares her personal journey of transitioning from incarceration to becoming a successful businesswoman, offering readers guidance on building sustainable businesses regardless of their past or current circumstances.

Dawn Chamberlain’s transformative journey from federal prison to leading successful enterprises is a testament to the power of resilience and redemption.
