Nicholas Iby, or known as Nick, is now one of the most inspiring contemporary artists in the industry, despite starting out with no experience or training at all. He built up his name and has become an iconic visual artist through hard work and sheer talent.
“I found art as a therapy for me during my younger years. Then I decided I wanted to make this the purpose of my life. I thought about how to expand my network, so I offered to make free art for online creators that had a bigger following than I did until more and more people started asking me to make personalized art for them,” says Nick.

A simple passion turned into a big venture
Nick began doodling in college as a form of personal therapy. He never thought much of it until his friends started complimenting him on his work. Through them, Nick became more motivated to create better art and started selling his pieces as prints and stickers. It didn’t take much for him to realize that he loved what he did, leading him to start expanding his business after graduating from college. His humble beginnings included creating custom paintings and illustrations for friends and family, eventually expanding into commission-based services for businesses and individuals.
Famous athletes and celebrities, including L.A. Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, have already purchased Nick’s creations. His works have become highly regarded by collectors and command high prices at auction, and with over a hundred art pieces sold, Nick Iby is definitely a noteworthy name in the industry.
“I love art, and I love that art is just an introduction to someone. Every custom art piece I make, is a glimpse into what that person deems most important in their life (family, favorite cartoons, meaningful dates, or whatever else matters to them most). I get to peel back the layers of athletes/social media stars to see who they are on the inside,” says Nick.
As Nick’s art continues to grow in popularity, so does the number of people following him. His own YouTube channel has more than 70,000 subscribers, and he has more than 20,000 followers on Instagram, where he often documents his artistic process. People are constantly inspired by his creativity and how he expresses himself through his art. They are also drawn to his positive attitude and how he always seems to be having fun.
Nick believes that if you keep doing what you love, the opportunities will eventually come. He loves to inspire people and takes the opportunity to show his followers on social media what’s possible if you never give up on your dreams.
“If you are determined to succeed, nothing will stand in your way. You will set your goals and work hard to achieve them. You will never give up, even when things get tough. You will find a way to overcome any obstacle. You will never settle for anything less than your best,” says Nick.
